Privacy Policy

Overview

MyPetPass ("we," "our," "the app") is a digital vault for your pet's health records. The short version: your pet's records are stored on your device, not on our servers, and any backups or sharing you create are protected by a password or expiration date that only you control.

What we collect

MyPetPass is built to minimize what ever leaves your device. Depending on how you use the app, the following information may be created or handled:

• Pet profile information you enter, such as name, breed, age, microchip number, and service animal status.
• Health records you add or scan, including vaccinations, medications, lab results, dental and grooming visits.
• Documents and photos you attach or capture, such as vet paperwork, rabies certificates, or a service animal certification letter.
• Care instructions you choose to include, such as feeding schedules or medication times, for sitters and boarders.
• Owner and emergency contact details you enter for use on a Boarding Pass or shared profile.
• Basic diagnostic data (crash logs, app performance) that helps us fix bugs — this never includes your pet's health records.

On-device storage

Your pet's full vault — records, documents, and profiles — is stored locally on your iPhone. We do not have routine access to this data, and it is not sold, rented, or used for advertising. No account or sign-in is required to use the app.

AI document scanning

When you use AI scanning to digitize a vet record, the image is processed on your device to extract text and structured fields (like vaccine name and date) so it can be filed into your vault automatically. Scanned images are not uploaded to us in the course of this feature.

Encrypted backups

MyPetPass lets you export an encrypted backup file (a .petpass file) protected by a password you set. This file is created entirely on your device, and we never receive a copy of the file or your password. You decide where to store it — for example, in the Files app, iCloud Drive, or your own computer. Because we don't hold your password, we cannot recover a backup if the password is lost.

Sharing & verification links

When you create a Pet Boarding Pass or share a pet's profile with a sitter or vet, MyPetPass creates a private web page with a link. Only the specific information you choose to share — not your full vault — is made available through that link, hosted temporarily so it can be verified (for example, by a vet or airline scanning the QR code).

• Share links expire automatically after the time window you set.
• You can revoke a share link manually at any time from Settings → Shared Links.
• Anyone with an active link can view the shared information — treat it like you would a physical document.

Support a Shelter

The app's Support a Shelter screen links out to third-party organizations (and, where enabled, shows a map of shelters near you using your device's location). MyPetPass does not collect or process donations of any kind — if you choose to give, it goes directly to the organization's own website, and we receive nothing and take no commission.

Subscriptions

PetPass Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed and managed entirely through your Apple ID. We do not receive or store your payment card details; that information is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.

Retention & deletion

Because your vault lives on your device, deleting the app or a specific record removes it from that device immediately. Backup files you've exported remain wherever you saved them until you delete them yourself. Share links are removed automatically once they expire.

Children's privacy

MyPetPass is intended for pet owners managing their own animals' records and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
