Clinical hypnotherapy for the subconscious triggers underneath specific phobias and persistent fears.
A phobia is not a thinking problem. If it were, logic would resolve it. You already know the flight statistics. You already know the elevator is safe. You already know most people are not watching you speak. The information does not change the response, because the response is not generated by thought. It is generated by the subconscious and the nervous system, and that is where clinical hypnotherapy works.
I am Monica Obando, CCHt, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Lutz, Florida, serving clients in Tampa and worldwide through online sessions. My clinical practice includes work with specific phobias and the fear responses that have persisted despite everything the conscious mind has tried.

If your specific fear is not listed, that does not mean it is outside my scope. Phobias are highly individual, and most respond to the same clinical approach.
A phobia is a conditioned response. At some point, often early in life, your subconscious decided that a specific stimulus warranted a strong protective reaction. The decision was made at a level deeper than thought. The response became automatic.
Trying to think your way past it works about as well as trying to think your way through a sneeze. The response does not live where thinking has access.
What clinical hypnotherapy does is access the layer where the response was formed. From that state, we work with the pattern directly. The subconscious can learn that the original threat is no longer present and the protective response is no longer necessary.
We start with conversation about your specific fear, when and how it activates, and what you have already tried. If you know the origin, we work with it. If you do not, that is fine. The subconscious knows.
Clinical hypnosis allows us to work at the level where the conditioned response is actually stored. You remain aware throughout. You are not forced to confront or relive the triggering stimulus.
Depending on the pattern, this may involve working with the original moment, with the current triggers, with the beliefs underneath, or with the body's response itself. Each client's work is shaped by what their subconscious presents.
As the pattern updates, we check how the response has shifted. Some phobias resolve in a single session. Others require several sessions, especially if there are deeper patterns underneath or if the fear is tied to trauma.
Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes. You remain aware throughout. You cannot be made to do or experience anything your system is not ready for. The experience is more like deep focus than losing consciousness.
Many specific phobias resolve substantially within three to six sessions. Simpler, isolated fears may resolve more quickly. Fears tied to chronic anxiety or significant past experiences may take longer and benefit from integrated work on the underlying pattern.
I do not promise specific outcomes. What I offer is clinical work on the pattern at the level where it actually lives.
Sessions are available in-person at my Lutz office or online worldwide. Spanish-speaking clients can book hipnoterapia en español.
I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCHt), Certified Transformational Academy Life Coach (CTACC), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), practicing bilingually in English and Spanish. Over the course of more than one thousand client sessions, I have developed a clinical approach that integrates subconscious work with cognitive reframing, trauma-informed care, and nervous system regulation.
My practice is based in Lutz, Florida, and serves clients across Tampa, surrounding areas, and worldwide via online sessions.
My work is not about fixing you. It is about clearing what is in the way of who you already are.
No. Clinical hypnotherapy for phobias works with the pattern at the subconscious level, not through exposure. You are not required to look at, think about in detail, or experience the triggering stimulus during the session.
Simple, isolated phobias often resolve substantially within three to six sessions. Some respond even more quickly. Fears tied to broader anxiety patterns or past experiences may take longer. We discuss what makes sense for your specific situation during the free consultation.
Many clients come to this work with no explicit memory of the fear's origin. The subconscious knows what it holds. The clinical work does not require you to identify the originating event consciously.
Yes. Many clients come to me ahead of specific travel. For best results, start several weeks before the trip so we have time for multiple sessions. We can also work on shorter timelines if needed.
Clinical hypnotherapy sessions are not typically covered by insurance. A superbill can be provided for potential reimbursement, though coverage is not guaranteed.
We start with conversation about your specific fear. I guide you into a focused, relaxed state using clinical hypnosis. We work with the pattern at the subconscious level. You return to full awareness and we debrief. Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes.
If a specific fear or phobia has been running your reactions and limiting your life, the pattern is not sitting at the level where thinking can reach it. Clinical hypnotherapy works at the level where it is.
A free 30-minute consultation is the right first step. We will talk about your specific fear and whether this work is the right fit.
