Every year we all make New Year’s resolutions in hopes of making a positive change in our lives. The recurring themes of every year include a more active focus on fitness and health, having better finances, being promoted, and recognized in the professional area and why not, meeting the love of your life 😉
But the question is how to make your New Year's resolutions come true despite having the best of intentions?
Here I will give you three steps that if you follow them safely, you will be able to fulfill your resolutions before the end of the year.
1. Prepare yourself physically and mentally for the change.
Changing the habits of a lifetime is not an easy task, so you should take a personal inventory, take stock of the achievements of the previous year, and give thanks for those successes. Analyze the areas where you did not progress and ask yourself the reason why you did not make it and that will give you an idea of the things that you must improve to achieve your goals.
2. Make sure you set goals that motivate you
Think about your priorities, dreams, and aspirations. These are very important to establish goals since you are the one who will work to meet them and benefit from them, also this will lead you to act every day.
3. Plan a manageable number of resolutions.
It is a common mistake to want to do thousands of things at the same time and see that in the end we do not accomplish any of them.
Make a short list of the priorities to fulfill during the year, establish a hierarchy in order of importance and divide each priority into small actions to fulfill each week, be as specific as possible and constantly review your achievements. You will be amazed at what you can achieve when you organize your time.
Do not forget that it is normal for you to deviate a bit from your goals; if this happens focus again and continue to meet your goals.
